Psychology of Politics

25 May 2014

This study is being done for the purpose of my master’s degree in psychology.

Participation takes around 10-15 minutes, and involves answering some questions about your political views and doing a few tasks.

There will is a prize to win: a 50$ Amazon gift card (or the equivalent of 50$ in a different currency, if you live outside the US). The prize drawing will occur on June 16th and the winner will be notified by email.

This study is anonymous. Any data collected about you will be used for research purposes for this study only. If you choose to participate in the lottery for the prize, the email address you provide as your contact info will not be given to anyone and will be deleted after the lottery has occurred.

You have the right to decline participation or withdraw from the research once participation has begun. The only penalty for leaving the study before it’s finished is not being able to participate in the prize lottery.

The experiment requires a plugin file to be downloaded and installed to your computer. The file is provided by Millisecond Software (http://www.millisecond.com/), the creator of Inquisit 3.0, the program used to create this experiment. The file is not harmful and you will be given the option to remove it when you close the experiment.

Responses given in this study are transmitted over the World Wide Web, which brings the small risk that they may not be secure. While the risk is extremely low, I cannot guarantee with absolute certainty that the data transfer will be secure.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me at: mpieckowska@st.swps.edu.pl , I’ll try to respond to you as quickly as possible.
